10 years ago today I launched this blog/business. I was a new mom looking for a creative outlet. Over the years I’ve had some pretty amazing opportunities - being mentioned in Martha Stewart Living Magazine and New Hampshire Magazine, being a contributor for an article in Food Network Magazine, getting interviewed for a lifestyle article by The Wall Street Journal. Also working with some huge brands for features like The Home Depot, L.L.Bean, Nûby USA, Lovevery, Safety 1st, and others - not to mention countless amazing local brands.
Despite all that this business has never “made it big” and that’s okay - I’ve really enjoyed this outlet and will continue to work on it and keep it fun. I have so many ideas for products and projects and will continue to make progress towards those ideas as real life allows.
Thanks so much for following along and supporting me these last 10 years - here’s to 10 more of Birch Landing Home!
Best, Sarah
PS - to celebrate 10 years everything in our Etsy Shop is 10% Off through August 10th.
Just stumbled across this sweet mention of our Ornaments on the Artists & Makers Page of Wiglesworth’s Mercantile’s website - thank you so much Anne! I was so honored to be a part of the opening of your shop and through your first Christmas season.
If you’re ever in Portsmouth NH, please be sure to check out Wiglesworth’s Mercantile in person - they cater to carrying New England-made products and have “Give Back” weekends once a quarter where they donate 10% of sales to local charities (how wonderful is that?!).
Yesterday the kids finger-painted some big sheets of paper and today we cut hearts out to hang in all our windows as a way to say THANK YOU to all the heroes out there - especially medical personnel, but also mail/package carriers, truck drivers, and our neighbors and community that are staying home.
I hope everyone can find some small way to help spread some hope and gratitude in your neighborhoods too. Thank you all!
A tradition I started two years ago was to donate a percentage of profits from Birch Landing Home at year-end to Charity. I’m so happy to say that this year we were able to help support The American Cancer Society in addition to our donation to Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
Thank you so much for all your support for my Etsy shop and blog this past year, I hope to continue to grow them and be able to give back more each year in return.
A tradition I started last year was to donate a percentage of profits from Birch Landing Home at year-end to Charity. I’m so happy to say that this year we were able to help support St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in addition to our donation to Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
Thank you so much for all your support for my Etsy shop and blog this year, I hope to continue to grow them and be able to give back more each year in return.
Our Etsy Shop is "On Vacation" (ha!) for at least the next month or so while we wait for our newest addition to the family :)
I'll reopen the shop as soon as I can, but in the meantime if there's something specific you're looking for please let me know! I should still be able to fulfill some small orders during this time as long as you're flexible with time frames and patient with me answering emails :)
Thank you so much again for all your support for my little shop!
Newsletters are where it's at now and I'm jumping on the bandwagon ;)
Please feel free to sign up for my weekly newsletter in the form below. I manage the list myself and don't share your information, so you don't have to worry about getting spammed.
I plan on sending out one email per week, tops (we all get enough emails everyday already, right?). In the weekly newsletter I'll share a summary to some of my latest posts, any giveaways I'm hosting for the blog, as well as what's new in the Etsy shop and exclusive coupon codes.
It's been awhile since I introduced myself so I thought I'd say Hi to all the new followers! I'm Sarah - a wife, stay-at-home mom, crafter, and blogger living in rural New England along with our black lab and six chickens.
I have an Etsy shop known for our hand-etched snowflake ornaments (they had a little feature in Martha Stewart last year), and I love showcasing local products on my blog and Instagram. My Etsy shop currently is on "semi-vacation" this month while I catch up on some house projects and prepare some totally new items for the shop. There are a few listings still available right now and custom inquiries are always welcome. Keep your eye out for some great new products in February and thank you for all the support!
Thank you all so much for following along, please stay tuned for lots of great things in store for the Etsy shop and blog this year.
